Dr. Komal Afzal is a strong believer in prevention over intervention, and no other field of medicine embodies those principles more than pediatrics. She aims to assist families in developing their long term health plans, beginning with routine newborn care through the dynamic adolescent years.
She spent her early childhood in New Jersey, and completed medical school at UMDNJ -School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Afzal did her residency in Detroit, MI where she gained the breadth of her clinical pediatric training at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. She and her husband settled into the Bay Area to start their family, and now have two young daughters. She thoroughly enjoys the robust culture, scenic beauty, and outdoor terrain of Northern California.
Dr. Afzal is a board certified pediatrician, and is on staff at Good Samaritan Hospital. She humbly understands what an esteemed privilege it is to take care of children. She engages deeply with each family to address their concerns, and provides a balance of medical expertise and whole body health.
